LOCATION: Bloomington Office, 7900 Xerxes Ave S., Suite 1350

DEPARTMENT: Programs    

REPORTS TO: Program Development Manager     

HOURS: Typically M-F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 Hours/week, some evening or weekend events)

TRAVEL: Up to 25% (primarily within Minnesota and occasional overnight) 

 

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Outreach and Training Specialist plays a critical role in implementing SAVE’s construction industry mental health and suicide prevention programming. Reporting to the Program Development Manager, this position provides hands-on support for all major grant activities, partners closely with participating employers, and serves as a primary point of contact for program participants in the construction industry.

This role is responsible for supporting participant recruitment and engagement, coordinating and facilitating Train-the-Trainer (T4T) sessions, implementing outreach strategies, and collecting evaluation data to ensure program quality and impact. The Outreach and Training Specialist is essential to scaling SAVE’s programs and strengthening relationships with industry partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Implementation and Training

  • Support the implementation of all major grant deliverables and program activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Train-the-Trainer (T4T) sessions and related training events.
  • Prepare and manage training materials, health promotion resources, and campaign tools.
  • Schedule training and meetings, coordinate travel logistics, and manage event details.
  • Support the rollout of workplace mental health promotion campaigns.

Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement

  • Support recruitment and onboarding of participating employers and program participants.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned partner companies.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with employers and stakeholders.
  • Implement program outreach plans to expand participation and engagement.
  • Support communication efforts, including emails, presentations, and follow-up materials.

Evaluation and Data Management

  • Collect, organize, and manage evaluation data and participant feedback.
  • Support surveys, assessments, and reporting requirements related to grant deliverables.
  • Assist in monitoring program outcomes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.

Collaboration and Administration

  • Collaborate with the Program Development Manager and other SAVE staff to ensure program alignment.
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Support general administrative and reporting tasks related to grant-funded programming.
  • Represent SAVE professionally at meetings, conferences, and community events.
  • Contribute to the broader work of SAVE, including organizational events, fundraisers, and team initiatives.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, social work, human services, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in program coordination, training, outreach, or community engagement.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
  • Ability to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to partner locations across Minnesota.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$60,000- $70,000 salary
